The second category is total resonance. The Huainanzi asserts that love, the most potent form of empathetic resonance, transcends categorical distinctions (HNZ 10 ). It teaches that love exists before knowledge, such as in an infant, making it the most effortless action. As stated in HNZ 10.26, it seems to exist before time, like shen and yi qi, evidenced in the mutual love between mother and newborn. Semantic meaning implies love as an instinctual response that is genuine, according to HNZ 8.8. Love helps us identify and guard against incorrect opinions, embracing genuine qualities.
