Daoism Series 44: The Dragon Gate’s Core Methods

Daoism Series 44:
The Dragon Gate’s Core Methods

As the winds, clouds, thunder, rain, frost, snow, fog, and dew each have their own patterns and limitations, they cannot [help you to] exit this world. As human beings live and die, they cannot [help you to] exit this world. As [all] beings flourish and then decline with age, they cannot [help you to] exit this world. As feelings can be strong or weak, they cannot [help you to] exit this world. As the mind can be excited or still, it cannot [help you to] exit this world. …. As power [can] rise or fall, it cannot [help you to] exit this world. As profit [can be] multiplied or divided, it cannot [help you to] exit this world. As fame [can] earn praise or censure, it cannot [help you to] exit this world. All conditioned [phenomena] undergo the same process of formation, existence, disintegration, and emptiness, of being born, growing old, falling ill, and dying. How could any of them [help you to] exit this world?
